Airfid is an ancient Gaelic word which means “music” or “harmony”. As implied by the name, Celtic tunes form an integral part of our repertoire. Violinist, Gail Poulsen, and harpist, Karen Smith, have been making music together since 1998 and formed the group Airfid in 2004. Along our musical journey, we have been blessed to have Anne Adams accompany us on Irish Bodhran first as a guest artist, and later as an integral ensemble member. Anne’s background and expertise in the area of Celtic music has been a great inspiration.
Airfid recently recorded their album, Simple Gifts, in summer 2006 to benefit Habitat for Humanity Niagara.
